Does it block apps?
It puts up a pause, not a lock. With Whittle Pro, once today’s minutes are used, a pause appears in front of the apps you chose, and Open anyway lifts it with one tap. It may ask again later that day. Measuring on its own never pauses anything.
What happens if I go over?
The day goes on. Next week’s target is unchanged — it follows the schedule, not your slips. If a week was hard, you can hold its target one more week.
Why a whole week of measuring?
Because the target should come from your life, not a guess. If you already know your limit, Whittle Pro can start from it today. A measured number comes from a full week, which you can start whenever you like with Measure again in Settings.
Which apps can it count?
Any app or category you pick in Apple’s own Screen Time picker. Two or three is a good start. While a pause is up, iOS may hold back notifications from these apps, so messaging apps are best left off.
What does it cost?
Measuring, today and your history are free. Whittle Pro is $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Prices vary by country; the app shows yours before you buy.
Can I go slower?
Yes. Whittle Pro lets you choose 4%, 6% or 10% instead of 8%, over 8, 12 or 16 weeks. A smaller step is easier to keep.
What happens after the program?
The pause comes down. You can keep lowering from where you landed, which starts a new program, or finish and let Whittle simply count. A subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it.
How do I cancel?
Settings on your iPhone › your name › Subscriptions › Whittle. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
More on cancelling.
